Message for U.S. Citizens: U.S. Mission to the UAE Seeks Citizen Liaison Volunteers
The Consular Sections of the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai are seeking Citizen Liaison Volunteers (CLV) who are resident in the UAE.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
CLVs are key liaisons between U.S. citizens in the UAE and the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai. As a CLV, you will be an important point of contact for the U.S. Diplomatic Mission within the private U.S. citizen community, providing a window into the concerns, interests, and needs of U.S. citizens in your area. We are especially looking for volunteers from schools, universities, and businesses with large communities of U.S. citizens.
As a CLV you may be asked to:
· Disseminate information to the U.S. citizen community in your area,
· Be an on-the-ground resource to help us understand issues of concern to U.S. citizens,
· Report on available local resources for U.S. citizens in your area, identifying gaps and seeking solutions to fill those gaps,
· Help provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in exigent situations and at our direction,
· Maintain local contacts in your area among U.S. citizens and others, who might be of assistance to U.S. consular operations,
· Encourage U.S. citizens to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), and
· Identify individuals who may also be willing to serve as a CLV.
